Caitlin Clark reacts to WNBA’s massive travel change amid growing popularity
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Before Caitlin Clark made the jump from college basketball to the WNBA, players had to fly through conventional means around the country for their games. That all changed when the Indiana Fever promised their rookie chartered flights, which in turn, the league has now afforded to everybody.

Clark first made a name for herself during the four years she played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in college. Even before that, the guard was already the top high school prospect in the Class of 2020. Things went to another level, though, in her final year playing women’s college basketball.

During the last few months, Clark captured global attention when she broke Pete Maravich’s old record to become the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. She also won the AP Player of the Year, Naismith College Player of the Year, Big Ten Player of the Year, and led the NCAA in scoring for three seasons, among others.

Unfortunately, Clark and the Hawkeyes failed to capture the NCAA title to an undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks team. Weeks after, she went first in this year’s WNBA Draft when the Indiana Fever selected her. With all the hype generated by her college stint and impending professional debut, Clark is truly a gamechanger when it comes to women’s basketball.

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark Reacts To WNBA’s Decision To Provide Chartered Flights To Players

Even before the WNBA has started, the Fever said they’re providing Clark with chartered flights for her safety and security. Turns out, the WNBA did the same for all the players, prompting the Indiana star to give her reaction in a video shared by Scott Agness on X:

The WNBA is currently experiencing an increase in popularity with Clark about to make her debut soon. It also helped that the incoming batch of rookies are also capturing everyone’s attention, such as Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese and Los Angeles Sparks Cameron Brink.

Caitlin Clark is set to make her debut in a match against the Dallas Wings on May 14. For sure, a lot of people will tune in to see if the former Hawkeyes star is worth all the hype after all the accomplishments she made during her four-year college stint.
