NFL Exec Doesn’t Hold Back On Green Bay Packers’ 2024 Super Bowl Chances
Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin / USA TODAY NETWORK

Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are one of the most talked about teams in the NFL heading into the 2024 season. After embracing the underdog role last season and shocking the league by making the playoffs and dominating the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round, the Packers are now being talked about as a possible Super Bowl contender.

What a change of pace the hype has taken after the expected long-term rebuild following the Aaron Rodgers trade.

Brian Gutekunst and the Packers’ front office deserve a lot of credit. They have been building the roster the right way and kept their franchise competitive despite trading away one of the best quarterbacks of all-time.

Now, it appears that they’re ready to take the next step towards Super Bowl contention in 2024.

NFL Exec Doesn’t Hold Back On Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl Chances

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, a former NFL executive spoke to NFL Analysis Network about the Packers. He is all about the Super Bowl hype that they have been receiving.

“I’m buying all of the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl talk. I think they’re absolutely built to compete for a Super Bowl. Assuming Jordan Love takes the next step, they’re one of my top three favorites to win the NFC. If the roster develops as it should, there’s a good chance that they’ll at least make the NFC Championship Game and I think a championship is very attainable.”

Talk about a vote of confidence in what is still a very young football team.

Even after beating the Cowboys last year in the Wild Card, the Packers should have shocked the NFL again. They should have defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round as well. If they had gotten to the NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions, they had proven that they could beat their division rival earlier in the season on Thanksgiving.

Gutekunst and company made a few big moves during the NFL offseason. They did move on from some longtime stars like Aaron Jones and David Bakhtiari, but they added Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney in free agency. Once again, the Packers put together a top-notch NFL Draft class as well.

Comparing last year’s team to this year, Green Bay actually looks to have improved. They also have such a young roster that it should improve from within due to development of talent.

It will be interesting to see whether or not the Green Bay Packers can live up to the hype and expectations. They are no longer going to be viewed as the underdog. Love will also need to prove that he can continue his remarkable success from last season with opposing defenses having more tape on him and a better game plan.

Expect to see the Packers end up being a very hunted team throughout the 2024 season. If they can take the leap that is expected from a development level, they’re going to be a very serious Super Bowl threat.
